Hello, we are Trenton and Hannah Ming!
Trenton and I met in the deep trenches of Covid. It was June of 2020 when my family took a vacation to Rocky Mountain National Park. We were staying in Estes Park, like we have for the last 20 summers. Over the years we had befriended some store owners in downtown Estes. When I walked into the store in June of 2020 that’s when I saw Trenton. I was too shy to talk to him, but apparently he still noticed me. While I was there the owner of the store actually offered me a job for the fall, and how in the world could I turn that down? Living in the mountains was my dream. After my family left Estes to head back home, Trenton decided to slide into my DM’s on Instagram. We facetimed almost every day for 2 whole months before I was able to move out to the mountains. Two days after we officially met in person he asked me to be his girlfriend, and the rest was history.
After getting married in May of 2021 we headed out on a two week road trip for our honeymoon. We visited 8 National Parks while we were traveling, and we truly fell in love with them all. We realized how much the United States has to offer and decided we wanted to make it a goal to visit every National Park in the country.
After our road trip we felt the call of adventure, but didn’t have the means to make traveling our life at that time. I mean being young and newly married, let’s be real, we were broke. So we decided the next best thing would be to pack up our lives in Kansas and move to Denver. We thought that we could still hike all the time, go camping, and explore Colorado while also working. Trenton and I both love our jobs very much, but they don’t allow for a lot of freedom. I am currently working as a manager of a coffee shop, and Trenton is the manager of an outdoor store. We are both doing things we love, but we are also missing out on things that we desire more. Our goal is to find a way to work remotely and move back up to Estes Park. We want to have more freedom to travel, hike, camp, and adventure. We would also love to be able to go back to Kansas more often where both of our families live.
In our blog we want to share tips and tricks for traveling, hiking, and camping. Living outside of Rocky Mountain National Park, we gained a great deal of knowledge about the treasures that are hidden in these mountains. For the time being many of our posts will be centered around our home Park (RMNP). We also want to be able to share how we are navigating making money, while also finding freedom to do the things we love. So welcome to the journey of our lives!
